Self-Starter:  Pick up and fill in the blue half sheet from the back table.  You will use it to select your celebrity.  Hand it in to the teacher and pick up the white Celebrity Webquest handout.

New Webquest Handouts Fall 2011.doc
Use the first two pages for coming up with questions to ask about your celebrity.  Divide them into 5 major categories to create headings for five of your PowerPoint slides.  Those pages show you what each of your slides should have.

Today's Student Targets:
By the end of class I will --
1) know basically what I need to do for the celebrity project
2)  understand the difference between general and specific questions
3) create 5 or more general questions (and specific questions to go with them) for my research
4) understand that not all websites are trustworthy and understand the difference between primary and secondary sources.

2.  Asking Question -- View a PowerPoint about questions and finding reliable answers.
What does it mean to be reliable?
3. View sample Celebrity PowerPoint
See examples at (Jack Johnson.ppt ) and emma watson example.ppt
4. Asking questions about websites -- more to come next time.
Next time you will receive your website evaluation forms and we will go to the computer lab to do research.  Watch for information on these intriguing topics: "A Search Engine is Not a Website" and "Wikipedia Warnings"

Computer Days: Sept 1,6,8,14,20 and, I hope, another toward the end of the month.  Make sure you bring your thumb drive on those days.
