4. If you still don't get it, try reading ahead a bit

Try reading ahead.  Sometimes it will make sense if you read the entire sentence or paragraph.

Sometimes the author just hasn't finished saying what he or she is trying to explain, so you need to read on.   

5. If you still don't understand, look for any words that may be getting in your way.
