Announcements and Reminders:

Anything in your packet that is not finished in the computer lab today becomes homework and should be handed in by the beginning of class on Friday.

Targets for Today:
I will read for enjoyment, and add to a record of my reading.
I can read aloud fluently.
I know strategies I can use to comprehend (understand) what I read, and to remember it.
I am computer/internet savvy!

Today’s  Agenda:

1. Pick up your folder, please.
2. Individual Reading.  Fill out your reading log.  Take home any make-up work in your folder (pink).
3. Partner Fluency Practice
4.  More work on "Becoming Computer/Internet Savvy."
      in computer lab 202.

About The CRAAP Test
C = current   Check the copyright date.
R = relevant (Would it be helpful is you were doing research on Lewis and Clark?)
A = Authority (Who wrote this?  Are they experts?)  Under the About Tab there is an "About the Authors."  The first set of information under About the Authors is crazy like the article about the explorers.  At the bottom of that, you can click on a link to the real information about them.
A = Accuracy (Could you verify -- or show to be false -- this information with other sources?  Is it accurate?)
P = Purpose   (Why did the authors post this information?)  Notice the other tabs -- including one for Teachers and one for a Webquest.  Considering who the people who made this really are, why would they have put in all the work to create this site?

Biography Reference Center:
Review of how to log in and find your articles
Notice that you have examples on your worksheet.

On the Biography Reference Center Assignment,

For the lexile level, look at the "stretch band."
