Plagiarizing?

•   How can you avoid plagiarizing?  
• This is a very rough rule, but helpful: 

• Ask yourself:  "Did I know it before I read this?"  
• If you did not know it before you read the passage,  using it without telling where you got it would be plagiarizing.
