A 10-foot-tall statue of Sgt. John Ordway, who volunteered for the Corps of Discovery led by Capt. Meriwether Lewis and Capt. William Clark, is seen at the Fort Lewis Memorial Park, in Fort Lewis, Wash., Friday, Sept. 22, 2006. . . . . Ordway is . . .  known for his role in leading troops and recording events during the Lewis and Clark expedition.
