Happy, happy, holidays!

Announcements and Reminders: Don't forget your dollar next time for the Charity Basketball game. Your computer lab packets were due a long time ago.  Hand them in if you haven't. If you have make-up homework, make sure to take that with you and complete it. If your BICUM brochure is totally done, you may hand it in (to the top wire basket) today.                                                                   January 11  Read-a-thon!  Bring treats, pillow to sit on, blanket,  if you wish.  Make a note for yourself to bring treats!

Targets for Today:   I will read for enjoyment, and add to a record of my reading. I can read aloud fluently. I know strategies I can use to comprehend (understand) what I read, and to remember it. I am computer/internet savvy!

Today’s  Agenda: Hand in your BICUM Brochure if you haven't yet. 1. SRI Retake and Individual quiet reading for those who finish early.  Scholastic Reading Inventory  SRI Test in Lab 211  Bring a book or magazine to read in case you have extra time after you finish.  Follow the directions you receive in the Computer Lab. SRI Instructions  Log onto the computer and wait.  Follow directions to log onto SRI.  (See the poster on the wall.) Select three favorite types of books.  Take the practice test SERIOUSLY. Take the rest of the test.  Take it seriously.  It is one of the factors that will influence what classes you will be able to take in the future. If you absolutely DO NOT know an answer, use a "SKIP." When finished, you may print and take the list of suggested books.  Remember to log off of the computer, and to push your chair in when you leave.  Bring a book to read in case you have extra time after you finish.  An improved score means 5 points of extra credit.  The "Stretch" Band is the one to look at.
