Announcements and Reminders:                           7      After Reading -- Retain  --   Mnemonics  -- Use a peg system to learn the Bill of Rights        RI - Reading Inventory Test -- Beginning of class  After Reading -- Retain --   Mnemonics  -- Use the loci system to learn the first ten U.S. Presidents.     11      Use flashcards  to study CRAAP, Bill of Rights, first ten presidents              You should know either Bill of Rights or First Ten Presidents (or both) for the test.                       Use the mnemonics and other strategies to memorize.         Practice using Metacognition   with an article = practice test!  13      Final Test --  Turn in BICUM Brochure and then take the test.  15      Readathon and Test make-up, if needed               Bring treats, if you wish, to the Readathon.

Targets for Today: As  I read for learning, I can I can use strategies to understand and remember the material I need to know. I can show what I know about using strategies when I read.

Today’s  Agenda: 1.  Prepare to take the final test.   Make sure your BICUM Brochure is complete.  Study the steps in BICUM and know at least a couple of strategies for each step.  Know the SELF Test and what BICUM means.  Study your memorization.       First Ten Amendments/Bill of Rights         and/or     First Ten Presidents      CRAAP Test 2.  Hand in your BICUM Brochures -- laid out, not folded -- to the top wire basket for your class. 3. Clear off your desks and take the test.                 Talking during the test or looking at a neighbor's paper                                        earns a zero on the test.               The SELF test is asking you to assess, not to define.                Follow directions and answer all questions.   4.  When you finish, staple your papers together               -- both turned the same way.         Place the staple in the same corner as the staple already on the packet.       Hand them in to the top wire basket.  5.  Individual quiet reading and fill out your reading log.       Don't forget to bring treats next time!

If You Were Absent: See above.  Take the test in Cave Time or during the Readathon. Facts to Memorize -- Select either the First Ten Presidents of the United States or the Bill of Rights to memorize -- extra credit for more.   Use the mnemonics we are learning to study them.   You will be retested on the CRAAP Test -- words and meanings.
