Begin with quiet reading.             

The Final Tests for this class will be on May 22.
     You will hand in your completed BICUM Brochure.  
     You will take a test on the Bill of Rights, 
      the first ten Presidents of the U.S., 
      the CRAAP Test, 
      and on using the BICUM Strategies to read an article.

May 16  Retaining (Remembering Information) -- Flashcards, Study in groups
May 18  Practice for the Final 

Our Readathon will be on May 24.

Read-a-thon!  Bring treats, pillow to sit on, 

blanket,  if you wish.

 Make a note for yourself to bring treats!


Targets for Today:

  • I can read quietly for an extended time -- hopefully enjoying it! 
  • I can improve my fluency by better understanding my own reading habits, and by practicing!  
  • I can learn about improving my reading by using metacognition after reading.

     Study area, 
     Emotions,
     Level of difficulty (of the material you're reading), and how you're 
     Feeling physically.  

3. Do individual reading.
