Announcements and Reminders:

January 11

Read-a-thon!  Bring treats, pillow to sit on, blanket,  if you wish.

Make a note for yourself to bring treats!

Hand in any unused hall passes
if you haven't done it yet.

If you haven't handed in your mind map or taken the test on Lewis and Clark (reproducing that map), do it today during the Readathon.

If you haven't handed in your computer lab packet, or any other work for this rotation, hand it in today.

Targets for Today:

I will read for enjoyment, and add to a record of my reading.
I can read aloud fluently.
This semester I have built up my reading endurance -- being able to read (and hopefully enjoy it)  for long periods of time.  I can use that endurance in a Readathon.

Today’s  Agenda:

1. A brief time to read individually and fill out your reading log.
2. Partner Fluency Practice

  • Hand in your reading log and fluency practice log to the top wire basket.   (Make sure your name is on each.)
  • Place in the designated box all  fluency partner practice materials with all passages in the plastic sheet.
  • If you still have the Lewis and Clark packet with maps, leave that next to the fluency materials box
  • You may take your folders.
Readathon!   (not talkathon!)
Pull out your treats and books or other materials to read.
Enjoy reading!   (If you must say something, keep it brief and keep it to a whisper.)

If You Were Absent:
See above.  Complete make-up reading.
