Announcements and Reminders:

Term 3 ends March 18.
All late work, revisions, and extra credit should be turned in by March 11.
There is no school on Monday, March 7, and Ms. Dorsey will have a sub on March 10, 11.
You may still hand in work on those days, but I will not be here for Cavetime or after school.

Targets for Today:
  • I read for enjoyment, and add to a record of my reading.
  • I can read aloud fluently.
  • I will understand better how to find useful, reliable information on the Internet.

Today’s  Agenda:

1. Get Set:
Pick up your folder.
Make sure you have a book or something else to read.
You may read on your phone or iPad, but you must be reading, not doing other things.

2. Go: Individual Reading and Filling Out Your Reading Log
    All are quietly reading.

Filling out your reading log: Examples  -- The Reading Log is required.

4. Computer Lab to learn more internet literacy!

Bring your headphones, a pen or pencil, and your packet.
You will sit at the computer that matches your folder number.

Computer Lab

  • Learn about plagiarism and how to avoid it.  It is NOT a good thing.
  • Practice applying the CRAAP test.
  • Learn about why we do NOT use Wikipedia for research projects -- at least not as a formal source.
  • Practice using some useful and reliable sources.

You will have two times in class to work on your packet, then it will become homework.

Your links:

If you are not about halfway done with the Internet Packet, you will want to take it home to work on it.

If You Were Absent:
See above.
Complete the make-up reading.
Begin work on the Internet Packet.  Complete about half of it.
