Today’s Agenda:
1. Pick up your folder from the black crate. 2. Be seated and enjoy quiet individual reading time. 3. Fill out your reading log for what you just read. 4. Partner Fluency Practice. Today begin doing Turning Off the Faucet == On your log, call it TOTF. 5. Practice previewing, etc. with a sample chapter/passage.
Last time we looked at Jefferson as President
This time students will practice prereading strategies
with "The Louisiana Purchase."
Media Center -- Last 30 minutes of class to learn about the CRAAP test for finding information that is trustworthy. Mrs. Jones -- Finding Trustworthy Sources There will be a quiz on this in class next time. A few notes: When you search, the search engines will target you with adds for the items you search for. The hits at the top when you search are the ones that have been clicked on most often. The CRAAP test helps you separate the roses from the manure. To make up for the reading time you missed, read at home for 20 minutes, record the title, and get a parent signature confirming that you read.
